I am in need of a transmission that can easily hold 600rwh. i am putting together a car with a 347 stroker motor and possibly a turbo in the near future. I am thinking about a tremec, but not sure which one to purchase. i hear many good things about the 3550 and the tko. Which one would be better. Don't care about hard shifting or anyting like that. Just want a better transmission that can hold more power. thank you.

Tremec has two new transmissions that should be coming out very soon. One is rated to hold 600+ lbs/ft of torque. I have a Tremec 3550 and love it. I know a few guys running a 3550 that run 9's in the quarter in beat the crap outta the tranny and it works just fine! Heres the link for the new trannys though.

So you would recommend getting the 3550 instead of the tko. i wanted to only spend about 1300 on the trans it self without a bellhousing. thank you very much.

i have thought about using the g force kit but it will cost 900 for the g force kit then 160 for the rebuild kit. I will also have to purchase a t 5 to build so for a nother hundred i can have a tremec that will hold more power.

for 600hp you will need a heavy duty tranny. If you are really good to it you could get the 3550 but even that might not hold. I would recomend the Viper t56(www.ddperformance.com) or a liberty t5(www.libertygears.com) or a c6 automatic.
