As far as sub-frame connectors, strut tower braces, etc. What amount of power do you need to be concerned about doing damage to your car?

im confused, what kind of damage are you talking about? People get subframes and strut tower braces etc for handling and or launching...i would imagine it would take a ****load of power to actually do serious frame damage...and thats only if your launching your car at 6k on a set of slicks or something

I wouldnt bother with a strut tower brace, they really do nothing unless you are doing serious roadracing.

Subframes are always a good idea, especially if you are drag racing.

once a '79 and up Mustang reaches around 120rwhp or has more the 30 miles on it i'd start looking at subframe connecters




...if you catch my drift

i got my subframes when the s/c went on. they made a HUGE differance

i didn't notice a huge difference with the subframes but the definitely tightened up the ride a lot,

no need to worry about damaging your car because unless your HP numbers are crazy high your not gona damage anything. get some mm full length subframes.

I wouldn't worry too much about damage on the street. It’s when you're at the track with sticky tires that you start breaking things. Torque boxes are usually the first to go, followed by a cracking windshield pillar. I've seen guys tear out torque boxes with repeated high RPM launches with drag radials on cars making less than 300rwhp.

I'd say if you're going to be driving your car hard on the street and see some weekend track duty, sub frame connectors, torque box reinforcement and a decent set of rear lower control arms should be your first big purchases.

I would say 1.80 or lower 60fts would be time to install some SFC's. Despite popular belief, the SN95 platform is really not that bad as far as body flex goes (compared to a fox I mean, heh)....I've only seen a couple cars twist enough to make junk not fit anymore, and they were all high hp (600+ rwhp) setups.

Looking at your sig parts, i say SFC will benifit your 60ft times. Without them i doubt you will break anything.

Sub Frame Connectors.When you weld them in, there must be no load on the suspension right? Is there any specific place your supposed to have the jack stands. Any other install tips?thanks

Yes, I agree. Full length SFC's will benefit you no matter what your goals are.

No, the suspension must be loaded upon welding or else your doors won't close properly.
