What manual trans fluid?

I had to refill my tranny with new fluid and used Dextron Mercron 3 ...... it said auto fluid on the outside but my mech said it is what it takes....anyone?

You put the right stuff in, ATF is correct, ignore the "auto" part . I like GM Synchromesh myself.

I currently have GM synco mesh and it did quite it down a bit but i hear amsoil will reduce it allittle more

I just put the Pennzoil Syncromesh in mine. The T-5 is less noisy at high RPM and it shifts really smooth when warm. $5 a quart at Autozone.
