What manual trans. for a 66 2+2

What manual transmission (with overdrive) works best
behind a FRPP 347c.i. 450hp/400tq crate engine?
Car is going to be a cruiser with the occasional trip to the track.
I do not want to modify the tunnel hull if at all possible.
Ford 9" 3.73 rear end.

2bav8 on here has a tremec behind his 347 which I believe is a 289 block. He says it bolted right in, which is unheard of according to everyone else. He has no reason to lie, so I'd say go with the tremec tko over a t5. I'm actually looking for one for my coupe right now.

If you want something guaranteed, a t5 will fall in there. I haven't done a tremec firsthand but maybe 2bav8 can chime in here.
