3.73s, exhaust. Dont waste your time with all the bolt-ons if you're gonna go with a KB eventually. If you would go with a Centri, Id also get a plenum/TB.

If you're gonna run the car at the strip, then of course tires and suspension work, but you can always do those after the blower. After a couple of 2.3 60' times it shouldnt take long before you get pissed and order some MT's and LCA's. Id also put aside some money for 31 spline axles and a differential.

Agreed. Subframe connectors, better gears of some sort, perhaps stronger axles.. weld the torque tubes and torque boxes as instructed at MD. Stronger clutch if stick.

Agreed x2. Sticky tires, suspension work like LCAs, full-length subframes, and maybe even UCA's are a must. You also need to upgrade the rear end with 31 spline axles with a matching differential, and 3.55/3.73s.

All of this should run you about a couple grand.

In all honesty, I think I liked the short throw shifter and subframe connectors better than the difference my blower made. I'm still on the stock clutch and it's holding fine since 2003. I have under 40,000 miles on the car. 3.27's do suck on the drag strip so make sure you get better gearing before you hit the track. As someone else mentioned, 2.3 sixty foots suck and the 3.27's will keep you there by either bogging if you launch to low or spinning if you launch to high. Nothing in the middle.

good points above

might want to think about a brake upgrade too

not neccessarily a "before" blower mod....but you'll want one after

I would recommend the exact same parts. Right now i've got the exhaust, 3.73's, and LCA's out of the way. Now i just need the TB/Plenum, some DR's, and stronger axles. Also need some LT's
I also have the upgraded brakes like someone else said. I figure if i'm gonna be able to haul ass, i might as well be able to stop safely and in a shorter distance than stock
BTW, i would add a powerpipe if its a centri and then just start saving for a built block so you can really push it

All above are good recommendations. I would focus on the drivetrain before anything else. Clutch, built rear, and deffinatly install subframe connectors. I would also look into welding up the torque boxes. There are only a few spot welds that hold them to the floor pan. If your making good power and can hook it you'll rip those suckers right out.

A CLUTCH! I got a built rear end, mm lower control arms, panhard bar, upr k-member coil overs and a arms, bbk short tube headers, and a upr off road x-pipe. Put my ati procharger on it two weeks ago and and drove right through the clutch. Monday im gonna order a clutch and six speed. I love credit.

Before you slap on a blower you need some back up money in case something really bad happens. Like a broken rod or snapped axles. I would just save for the blower, and install it. When something breaks you can replace it.
