I might be getting my hands on a '01GT 5-speed tranny. What will I need to change to make it work on my car. Is it worth it?

On those trannies....is the bellhousing built into it? I want to say that it is...but then again im not sure. Which trans is it?

If its 2 seperate pieces...tranny/bellhousing that is, then all you would need is the bellhousing. But thats if thats even an option.

Im not sure how strong those trannies are...i know they cant be worse than a T-5 so there has got to be something to be gained.

It's probably a T-45 and it bolts up to the rear on the mod motors, not sure how it's gonna work on 5.0 or 5.8's.

its either a t45 or a tremec 3650. Both are one piece. In 2001 the first half of the year was the t-45 but the second half ford switched to the 3650. I know we use the same shifter as a t45 but its a one piece unit (bellhousing and case) and the bolt pattern for the modular motor is different than ours. I dont think this would work very easily.
