I recently started moding my wifes 98 V6 and have found a deadend. current mods to date are underdrive pullys, ford 9mm raing wires, true duals with cats punched, 3.73 rear gears, cold air intake. I had planned on a set of headers untill i was told they'd be a waist of time, also a set of 1.8 roller rockers were going to be on the way untill i got information that the true duals would cause problems with that set up, is that true?? i have about 400 to spend MAX. thanks for the input and any extra ideas i really need it.

What do you want: looks, power, suspension? Maybe some springs, sub frame connects, or sway bar?

You got a good one then. She likes the power Here: this site might get you some ideas http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/

Edit: Maybe you can get her a new clutch(but I'm guess it's an auto, right?). Well for under or around $400 you can get her the diablo sports predator

If she's looking for power, you may end up having to fork out more dough. Take a gander at supersixmotorsports.com and rpm-mustangs.com for v6 power.

She'll love the diablo then because you can make the shifts firmer.

1.8 roller rockers are fine with dual exhaust and are one of the better mods to do to your engine. gains will only be around 8hp but the valvetrain is much smoother with them. whoever told you they wouldn't work with dual exhaust is a complete moron and should stay away from cars

get the Adjustable ones from www.rpm-mustangs.com

also think about some of RPM's heads/cams and intakes for future mods and also maybe a turbo kit too from www.tmaturbo.com

aftermarket shortie style headers will offer only about 1-3hp over the excellent flowing stock headers

MAC long tube headers will give about 10rwhp and help in the torque dept too

for a chip contact Justin at www.vmptuning.com he is about the best V6 tuner out there. he can custom burn an SCT chip for your setup as well as raise the top speed limiter and rev limiter.

you can expect about 12 rwhp from one of his chips. he also sells the excellent SCT X-Cal tuner

If I were you, I wouldn't dyno it yet. Wait until the summer/fall after her Christmas gift is put in.

thanks for the input on the roller rockers as far as turbo's the second i get out of college and find a job i plan on picking up a pair of 98 GT's cause its my fav. body style and getting HP performances twin turbo stageII done to them. the nitrouse kits will be homade to say the least we're basically piecing a buch of **** together and just drilling a hole in the intake right infront of the TB. agian in college and flat broke. also the nos will be emergency/save face only when i need it in 4th as i have a rebuilt race ready auto tranny by my frieds dad, my car the 98GT is done except for tune and dyno cause i have no clue where its at by now but she "NEEDS" more power so if i can get her into high 9's to low 10's in the 8th ill be happy

the MAC long tubes for a 97 can be modified for the 98.

the only difference is the EGR tube coming off the 97 header is in the wrong spot for the 98. you can modify it or your EGR tubing to work
