What oil pump/pickup for a stock 306 rebuild?

Will I be ok with a stock oil pump from my local parts store for $20? I'm also looking for a oil pickup is $40 the cheapest they come?

As long as you had good oil pressure on your old motor, I don't see the point in buying a new one.

I'm using another block for my rebuild. I'm doing it this way so i have very little down time.
