I may be purchasing a 94-95 5.0 in the near future (sweeeet ), what are some of the options that were available on the gt? Are they all mainly optioned the same (except colours and interior), or is it dependant on how it was ordered? What kind of options and sound systems were available on these cars? Thanks for any info

The major options on 94/95 GT's are as follows:

  • 17" wheels (not really necessary since most of us go aftermarket eventually anyway)
  • Mach 460 sound system (can be with or without CD player in the second bay - not necessary if you plan on adding a custom system, but personally I love it in mine and you can still put in an aftermarket CD player while utilizing the factory amps/speakers)
  • Leather seats (a must IMO, but that's your preference....they look freakin' sweet especailly in black!)
  • Rear window defroster (I know, weird option but if you plan on driving in winter in cold climates you better make sure it has it! My buddy's GT didn't!)
  • 5-speed or Automatic (again, your preference. most guys like the stick, but it depends on what you want to deal with)
  • Keyless entry (mine doesn't have it and it's probably useless on most cars that old...I just added my own alarm with keyless)
  • Convertable or Hardtop (on a car this old I'd stick with hardtop, so you don't have to worry about leaks etc.
  • GT, GTS, or Cobra? (whatever you can find! GTS are base models with no options, only made in 1995. Cobra is the way to go if you get a good deal; more collectable and more standard features)
  • Rear spoiler (I think they are standard on GT and Cobras, but not on GTS...Not 100% on that)
  • According to KBB, power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, and cruise control were all optional on 94 GTs but standard on 95 GTs, but I think most GTs will have those.

I think I covered everything?!

Buy a STOCK 5.0 GT or 5.0 COBRA. there are lots of modified 5.0's out there. but you will have no idea what they did to their car! and after about a month "boom" oil leak and blown head gaskets etc.etc. i bought mine from a old lady who wanted a van. I gave her cash and ran. look for those deals!
