What paint can I use to paint my wheels?

I plan on painting the inside part of the star black or charcoal(if I can find it), but don't know what brand to use? Which one do you all recommend?

I would scuff it up and use some of that high heat engine enamel with ceramic.

I heard that if I leave it too smooth, the paint will have a harder time sticking.

powder coat will last longer and hold better. Since its not the whole rim it might not be too much to get the sides/inside area of the spokes done.

I would get a black or dark grey/silver metalic

The thing it that I don't want to spend too much money on them. I know a guy who fixes wheels for a living and he's cutting me a good deal, he's willing to paint them any color I want for $25 each, but if I can save some $$, I'll try that route first.

Isn't that rim aluminum? If so, it's likely clear coated already. So you can scuff up the area with 400, then paint, then clear. I recommend high temp paint BTW.

It will have a hard time sticking. That why you scuff it up. use some wet or dry 400 grit. And sand it till it looks pretty much like brushed alum.

I have some 400 grit at home, I'll do that and use the high temp stuff. I'll post pics of results as soon as I do.
