hi
can anyone recommend some sensible fist mods to a '94 gt
car already has a freeflow exhaust on standard headers.
i was thinking of cold air induction,75mm bbk maf & 70 mm bbk t/b......
or would the money better spent elsewhere?

Welcome to SN

Gears is probably the best first mod for a 94-95 Mustang.

Can you tell us more about your car? 5speed or auto? Coupe or convertable?
What are you long term goals for the car? Drag racing, autocross, show car, warmed over daily driver????

thanks for the reply, the car is an auto coupe and it is my daily driver so im really not looking for huge power,in fact if you saw the state of some of the roads in
england you'd probably tell me to trade in for a jeep.
if over the next year or so i could hit 270 hp for $4-5000i would be happy,is this relistic as i don't really want to start pulling the engine apart, although i'd
probably change the cam & go for higher ratio rockers

I waits like a year to put my gears in and after I put them in I wished it would have been the first thing I did. After that possibly UD pullies, I had charging problems though and had to take them off. A CAI wouldnt hurt. It doesnt do much but for the $50 price tag on eBay I could live with it, mainly because it cleans up the engine bay.

For that kind of money, get a turbo or supercharger and get closer to 400hp.

please be kind here as im english and therefore have a very limited knowledge of engines with more than 4 cylinders and 100bhp,which brings me to my point-
what are ud pulleys and where do they live?
my best guess so far is in the transission o/d overdrive u/d underdrive

Underdrive pullies replace the standard pullies that drive your accessories, typically alternator, powersteering and crank pulley i believe. the underdrive pullies turn these accessories slower reducing the power drained by them. they also may be a bit lighter than stock. many people consider them good bang for the buck.

Ours use the crank, alternator, and water pump.

Are you talking USD, Euros or British Pounds. 5,000 Pounds is like 10,000 USD. You can build one hell of an engine for that kind of money!
