What parts for T5 and where to order?

I traded for a 94 GT. When shifting to second sometimes it pops out while upshifting.Downshifting is fine.And third whines but shifts fine.
Where do you guys recommend ordering a kit from and with the sympthoms I have given what would you order?

I have not rebuild a t5 before,but I have a half dozen or so Honda manual transmissions.I ain,t a scared!

I have an actual Borg Warner T5 tear down manual on my comp if you need it. Your tranny is the World Class T5. A google search will probably let you find the same manual online somewhere.

You can download the T-5 manual off the TTC website for free. They also have a list of vendors, some of them local to you to buy original equipment TTC parts. I use Southern Gear Co. in Smyrna, GA. The manual has a blow up diagram in it that shows you individual part numbers for every single part in the transmission. If you give the part number from the manual to a listed vendor you are pretty much assure of getting the right part. There are some bigger companies that sell parts nationally. Sounds like your lock ring broke. Probably a good opportunity to do a soft parts rebuild on the transmission. Manual transmissions are really easy to rebuild, and do not require many special tools.

Thanks for the replies and adivice.I have this Tuesday off.I might just go ahead and give southern gear a call.If I can fix it for under 300$ ,I will probably go ahead and get it done.
It,s not very bad,but I might wind up selling it after I get my 56 ford running and I don,t want to sale it to someone like it is.

You can get a T5 rebuld from Summit for around $250 I believe. Sound like some synch's are shot in it. They have a combo kit as well. It has lube, RTV, and a bearing retainer for just over $300.

Bad Shoe Productions How To Video Series - Ford Transmissions & Rears has some good videos for sale on how to rebuild the T5 step by step. Lot of other videos for sale too like how to rebuild the 8.8 and a good portion of the RWD automatics Ford uses. Good investment.

Cool website. I'm putting the rear end video on my X-mas list. Probably not necessary for the transmission. It's pretty straight forward if you read the free manual on the website. If it's popping out of gear, it's the lock ring, not the synchronizer.

This thread is making me want to get the T5 I bought out of my storage unit and back to the basement so I can start tearing it down and seeing what, if anything, needs replacing. Only derailer is the wood pellet stove is still running so it gets annoyingly hot after only a few minutes... Stupid New England "spring" weather...

I found a 3.8 t5 from a later model stang with 30k on it for 275$. So I went ahead and bought,I just got it installed and took it down the road.It shifts great!!
And WOW!!!.This car is fast now.I can do 130MPH in 4th gear at about 1500RPM

I did a quick search.Is this what I need?

If so ,I might just get one and be done with it..Or I might tear into my t5 and use this one for a temp fix.I am going to go back up to shop and just unplug the vss,so I can drive it to work tommorow.

After searching on here.I bought one of these on ebay.DAKOTA DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER ADAPTER CALIBRATOR SGI-5
I just finished installing it.And like it said you just push the up or down button.It works really well.

What parts for T5 and where to order?
