I am getting a compression check first to make sure everything is in order. What else should I check for before tossing 9lbs of boost. What should I worry about in the next few months?

9lbs and Hyper pistons...I would get a tuning system(PMS, Tweecer, Etc.) because with those pistons you need to add fuel remove timing because you might lift a head which is the best possible thing that can happen but usually on Hyper pistons the top ring area cracks. I have taken apart a lot of 93-95 engines because to much boost and it is not a mileage thing because I have a '89 with 146k miles and been pushing 485rwhp for 4 years on a stock engine and have produced over 350rwhp for 8 years before that. If you can't put the money into a tuning unit stay at 5psi don't rush for more till you have the resource(cash) for more power.
I have about 1k for tuning... hope that should cover everything... What should I go with PMS or Tweecer??? Will this replace my FMU. Not sure what these tuning systems are all about...How much are we looking at? I was thinking I might got to 36# injectors due to everyones suggestions and get a tune. Is this were the tuning system would come in handy.

I'd go with the twEECer R/T, seems well worth the money if you have the patience to learn how to use it.

you do need a custom chip, twEECer, PMS, EEC-Tuner, or the like.
You COULD get by with just a mafterburner, and the MSD boost/timing box that comes with an s-trim (assuming vortech??) But hot starts will be difficult with 42's....too much cranking fuel! No way to remove some without a chip, or tuner.
I have never used A PMS.....although, my wife does suffer from PMS.....

I just bought AFM PMS - more money than the Tweecer, but I am quite happy with its tuning abilities and the fact that in standalone mode it has already fixed some high RPM fuel quirks I was having.
And yes, since you too have a '93, the pistons are something to worry about. As mentioned already, you will need more fuel, less timing. You will also need cooler plugs, gapped less.
Other than that, you should be fine. I will be turbocharging mine here shortly, and after lots of research, everything points to the things mentioned above.
One thing to check: COMPRESSION! Get a compression checker (gauge, spark plug adapter, etc) for less than $30 at Walmart or auto parts store. Take the time to check each cylinder's compression. If all is well there, you really shouldn't have any issues with a proper tune. Stock motor is safe to about 10psi.
