What PS Fluid?

I am converting my 65 289 to the March serpentine system. March says that the 65 PS pump will not work and I have to use one from a '71.
The old '65 pump used Type F Transmission Fluid. Is that true for the '71 or should it use regular Power Steering fluid?

I use ATF type F for late models as well. Haven't had any issues yet.
