Well, the title of the thread says it all. I'm curious, just what rpms do you guys have your automatics programmed to shift at. This is mainly designed for those who've done a gear change and/or dyno tune. I'm only curious for now. I won't say my reasons either. You might think I'm overboard and insane.

You're probably not going to get any better times than the stock shift points. The automatic is tuned to maximize HP as is.

I checked mine out with my current set-up after a dyno. They'd be better tweaked here and there by 100 to 200 rpms but no big deal.
I got my chip with a dodgy burn at first - shifted at 6500+! Not good.

I was thinking the stock shifts are probably best. I'm going to be getting my car dynt tuned very soon when I do all my other mods for best results. I was just wondering where everyones shift points were cause I'm thinking about having mine shift at 6k. The "big plan" was actually the old debate. That is to say, stick with the 4.30's or get some 4.56's with a 27in slick.

I asked that question a few months ago. I understand that the only way to maximized your performance by changing your shift points is going to the track and test it with every change you do.
I also know that you dont get any HP or torque passed 5600 RPM, peaks beeing under that level. I also notice that at stocks settings and WOT the car seems to float and dont accelerate anymore before it shift on the next gear.
So i lowered my 1-2 shift by 400 RPM and my 2-3 shift by 300 RPM. For the street, the car is much more fun to drive, it shift very quickly. As for the track, i ll bring the hypertech and do a lot of passes and starting with the stock settings, i ll do 1 change at a time and go on from there.

With a Predator or Hypertech, it s real easy to change and test comparing to a custum chip.

Keep us updated after you run your test! MM&FF or 5.0 needs to do something like this one month. They dont do much about the stock autos in our cars, its always about a totally different aftermarket auto tranny.

I remember doing this in my brothers GT. Talk about hard shift at 5600rpms lol.
