What short throw shifter has the shortest throw? Im just wondering because my car has been in storage since last fall, and since it has been in storage I picked up a new daily driver a 2004 SVT Focus. It came with a short throw shifter installed on it. I has roughly 4-6 inches of travel between gears. I can shift without moving my arm. My mustang has a B&M short throw in it and it is nothing compared to the one in my focus.

Im just wondering, is there a shifter out there that has around that short of throw?

I know alot of guy are using a MGW, how short is the throw on a MGW?

Its going to different going back to driving the stang when it comes out of storage in April !!

Thanks
Todd

I have an MGW with the "race" silver handle. I just measure the throw an its 3 1/4" long. I have yet to drive with it but it feels awesome.

my MGW also has a significantly shorter throw than my old B&M... the handle also has full adjustability so you can swivel it around 360* to the most comfortable position for you

I haven't used an MGW yet but the old trusty standby Pro-5.0 has a short throw when you use the short handle that it comes with. You can also swap to the stock handle for a positive feel but less of a reach

Nice! Just picked up an 04 Competition Orange under two weeks ago for a DD as well! LOVE IT!!! Which short throw is on your focus? I am in the market for one and it sounds like you are happy with yours. Thanks!

I've ran 4 different shifters, Pro 5.0 had the shortest throws.

I have a Pro 5.0 with a Tri-Ax handle, but Lynn's eBay shifter (with Tri-Ax handle) feels EXACTLY the same - very short, positive shifts. The eBay shifter allows you to either use the Z-shaped handle part along with a top section, or you can just bolt the top section (where the knob screws on) directly onto the shifter - it'd be about the shortest shifter you can imagine, but it'd be uncomfortable as hell because it'd be so far forward and so short that you'd be leaning way forward and to one side all the time you drive.

Nice! We have some rare vehicles! Yours is one of only 51 made, mine being a 2 door is one of 121 made.

Thanks for the info on the shifter I will check it out. I am looking for one for both my GT and my SVTF and am back and forth on which one. This helps!
