My rear main seal is leaking and i asked the ford dealership if they would replace it for free becuase i have a 3 year warranty on the engine. He said yea but it would prolly take up to 3 or 4 weeks!! becuase my Mid pipe is not removeable(its welded at muff's) so they would have to remove all the exhaust or pull the engine. Anyways i havent been working much lately and im sure i can do it in 3 days tops. I've never did a main seal or clutch befor thats why i kinda dont want to do it myself. I do have all the necessary tools and what not tho. So should i take a stab at it or be stangless for a month(which i dont think i can do:)

Do it yourself....buy all the parts beforehand, do it in a day.....

Then you gotta figure out the exhaust thing...after you cut it loose, have a shop weld up the "ball and socket" connection. That is the best thing...IMO

i would probably just pull the motor, i have a EFI engine lift plate i havent got to use yet that should speed up the process a lil. Plus i dont think i can get my car high enough off the ground to be working underneath it

i would let the ford dealership do it and request a loaner car preferably a mustang...anyways whatever they may give you it will keep the miles off your car...and if you do the work yourself it may void the warranty.
