What should I do & use?

I am going to be getting ymy car repainted midight gray.What should I do to keep the shine?What type of wax,and what should I use between waxing?How oftens hjould I wax?

1) Make sure to let the paint fully harden before you wash it for the 1st time(typically 3-5 days depending on temp)
2) You don't want to over wax a car cause it'll never look right,stick with a brand name wax and use their recommendations as a rough guide. If the car is garage kept then wax less. Outside,then as often as they recommend.
3)Whatever you do DON'T EVER LET BIRD CRAP OR BUG CRAP SIT ON THE PAINT!! Bird poop is the worst,it'll eat the wax and half the clear-coat if it's left on for too long (1-2 days)
4)Wash as often as you want as long as you use a car specific wash. Wax-see above. Don't polish until the paint shows signs of wear. You shouldn't have to for the first year or two at least.

if i remember correctly you are not supposed to wax a new paint job for like 1-3+ months after you get it painted. The guy at the paint shop will tell you when its ok to wax it though.

congrats on the new paint job. I use a coat of Klasse followed by a coat (or 2 depending on how i feel) of meguiars nxt wax. awesome combo, great shine and protection. i buy my stuff from autogeek.com. good service.
