WHAT SHOULD I GET?...

Im in need of a better intake manifold and cam for my almost stock '65 289. I currently have a Edelbrock Performer intake with a Holley 570 Street Avenger carb.
-What intake and cam should I get?? I want a mild cam. Im trying to get a street/strip daily driver.

You can't beat the older unequal length Ford A321 intake, also the same as the older Edelbrock F4B, Cobra high rise, & Ford C9OX. Keep your cam in the 270-280 degree advertised duration and around a .525 lift. Do not go with a Comp Cams 268H, you might have problems finding gas for it with that one. if your comp ratio is in the 9.0 to 10 to 1 ratio.

Consider getting gears first. That will greatly improve your acceleration.

The cam should be the last thing you do, and there are plenty of things to do before you get to that step.

Gears.
Shift kit.
Converter.
Then mess with the heads . . .

OK. what kind of geras would you guys suggest?? 3.55?...

3.50's are a good compromise for accelleration and cruising with no overdrive, an automatic and 25-26" tires.

If you do anything more than 20-30 minutes of highway driving, I would probably lean towards even taller tires. Like a 255/60/15 (27"). 3500rpm @ 65ish MPH isn't fun for very long.
