My buddy has a mystic 1980 Cobra and has dynoed at 330 rwhp. It seems to me that this is a bit low. He has also run a 12.7 @ 109 with a 1.9 60ft. Based on his combo below, do these numbers seem right on? I certainly don't think so! I look forward to some feedback, guesstimates and suggestions - thanks!

331 stroker motor
flat top pistons 10.5:1 compression
30lb injectors
AFR 185 heads
holly systamax II intake
comp cam xtreme XE274hr .555int/ .565ex 235dur
Pulleys
Long tube bbk's and x pipe with magnaflows
Pro M 77mm mass air calaibated to the 30lb injectors
70mm throttle body
Jacobs electronics ingintion system

My buddy has a simular setup in his 65 mustang. It made 365rwhp with a carb. The engine was dynotuned on an engine dyno.

i would say that is about right.......anywhere from 330 to 370 would be my guess........with that 10.1, tell him to slap a bottle of nitrous on her and try it again, i bet he will go into the low 11's to high 10's and he needs to work on that 60' time.........not sure what kind of tires he is runnin, but if they are drag radials, have him drop the pressure some more..........hotwheels of turborides

A classic in a 65 in the classic forums runs like 11.50"s with a similar set up. Same heads and cam I think. but he has victor jr intake and slicks w/ a 1.65 60 ft. And only a 2500 stall and no traction bars of all things. i think that may be who red92vert is talking about. His name is like, 66 or 65washmo.

What's his a/f like ?

My old combo dynoed 303/332 at the wheels, my car trapped at 108.8mph. I would say if anything you buddy should be going faster. With you're setup, I would guess 350+rwhp. The dyno is more of a tuning tool IMO. I'll take track #'s any day, just me though
mike.

Good call on the dyno #'s, Mike! Its just a tool to help dial the car in. Track #'s are what counts

That combo should do 350-360rwhp and have some nice torque curve and low end!
