What size/brand wheels and tires should I get?

I can't get traction in 1st or 1/2 of 2nd so I guess I need some bigger tires. I currently have stock 16" wheels with 245/50/16 BFG Traction T/A's, talk about crappy tires...
So, what size/brand wheels tires do you all recommend for at least 20-30 k miles of daily driving? I was thinking 295-315 in the rear with 17x10.5 inch wheels and maybe 255's in the front with 17x9's? I know that 295-315 might be bigger than I need, but I plan to go the s/c route one day, so I want to be ready.

First off... What if any suspension mods have you done? The right spring/shock and control arm combo can do wonders for traction.

Secondly a 17x9 with 275/40 will be good. Might have fitment issues with a 17x10.5 and 315/35 tire depending on exhaust tho it could be made to fit.

I run 17x9 with 255/45 front and 17x10.5 with 285/40 rear.

I would do a 8-9 wide up front and a 10" wide out back.

run 255 up front and 295 out back.

I avoided the 10.5 becasue with 10.5 and 315's you can run into rubbing issues depending on you exhaust brand or under extreme load in the corners if you don't have a panhard rod or something. I hate tire rubbing.

I love my bfg kdw-2 tires.

as far as wheels that is personal preference. I tend to like aftermarket as I see the normal choices everday. I don't think I have went a day without seening mustang with bullitt, cobra, saleen wheels in the last 5 years.

If I was runnning a ford variation I would get some deep dish fr500 as that is the most unique flavor of the ford wheels IMO.

Maybe you just need better tires? The Traction T/A is a good tire for a Focus or a Saturn, or maybe some of the smaller torque deficient imports. I would recommend the G-force T/A KDW as they hook really well in the dry. Wet weather is okay and not near as scary as the stock skaterbacks, but they hold so nice in the dry I doubt there is another tire out there that comes close to it.

The choices are pretty much endless. But stay away from Eibach Sportlines. Maybe some H&R or Steeda springs with Tokico/Koni/Bilstein shocks. Add a good set of boxed lower control arms, then weld in some subframes.. But also, is this your daily driver, or a drag car, or something you want to go canyon carving in??

The G-Force KDW is popular, as is Nitto D/R.

This is my Daily Driver. I might be interested in lowering it some, and the 255 front, 275-295 rear sound good to me.

Stay away from Eibach Sportlines. H&R and Steeda make good springs. Koni, KYB, Tokicoare good shocks, Bilstiens probly the best. Just look at steeda or maximum motorsports websights. They carry the parts you want.

depending on how hard you drive it you might have a hard time getting 20-30k out of a hi po tire. i have 275/40 nittos 555 (not drag radials) all around and have no complaints. price is under 200 also.

definitly go with 10s on the rear. they always look awsome
