Hey everyone. I've been wanting to start making some videos with music, etc. with my camcorder but I need some good video editing software that allows you to put in text and stuff (like dyno results, etc.) while the video is running. I've seen quite a few videos on here that look great. I don't have a bunch of money but don't want to spend $20 either. What software would you recommend? Thanks! :SNSign:

If I would upgrade my computer and get Windows XP,,,the software that comes w/that is pretty decent I've heard. think it's a version of Media Player.

I should probably get a digital cam-corder as well.+

Yes, as a computer science major I can confirm this 100% false

Why? Are there super audio/video chipsets/cards for macs that PCs do not have? Or superior software that you can't use / find an equal program to on a windows based system? Mac>PC for breaking components, complete hardware failure, and overall garbage products. Almost all of the kids who bought macs on the floor of my dorm had broken them by the end of the year. Go figure.

Just use Windows Movie Maker, if you have XP it should already be on your computer - if not its a free download. Cheap/Free, effective way to do everything you listed.

Yeah, that's exactly it. For the people who are unable to use a real computer and load it up with spyware, adware, download every program out there, click yes on every command prompt, and generally don't give two ****s about their computer, then yes, I would get a beginner computer. Yes, a mac. After all, macs can't get viruses or anything, right? Almost all large networks are PC's running linux, which happens to be what the mac OS is based on also. PC's will always be better.

It's funny because one would think in a free market that the supposed clear cut superior product would hold the lion's share of the market share, and guess what? It does.

MAC folk like to think their product is superior "because they say so", but in a real world application PCs still rule the world. It must be a giant world conspiracy against MAC.

BTW my office tried to move to MACs but after a trial they decided it wasn't worth the overhead to double the size of our IT department.

On the topic thread...I would highly recommend ULead Movie Studio for $60 or Windows Movie Maker if you want to go the free route.

OS X 10.5 ... delayed, because of the "revolutionary" iphone This girl I knew had a Mac laptop, it took her 5 minutes to load up photoshop. It was taking too long, so I decided to load up the harddrive and see how macs were layed out... but then I had to stop that too, because it took 5+ minutes to open up the hard drive. She needed to buy more ram just to make the computer usable. Forget performance and gaming, at least I can hit a couple keys and watch my windows fly around and such!

BaaaaaaHaaaaaHaaaaaa!!!!!!!!Are you kidding me?????? The biggest fiasco and farse in the history of the world was caused by PC's! Have you ever heard of Y2K!!!!!!! The whole basis of a PC is flawed. Hundreds of billions of dollars were spent trying to "fix" your crappy PC's. PC's couldn't even come out with a decent operating system. You still don't have one. Microsoft had to copy Mac technology from 1983 just to get Windows 95. Way to go . DOS here we come!

I still think XP is a perfectly fine operating system, I've never had a problem with it at all. I actually bought a compaq laptop 5 years ago with XP and never had to reinstall XP, restore anything, etc. Honestly, is windows 95 even a good example? How old is that argument? Oh, that's right, 12 years. You think Mac OS X, your "operating system", is oh so great? Awesome linux GUI Why don't you go play.... oh, wait, you can't. Well at least you can host... oh, wait, no one does that either. At least you can make a funny movie complete with an awesome soundtrack as to how bad PCs are.

All I can say is WOW. According to your logic Ferrari is crap compared to KIA. It must be, Kia sells way more than Ferrari!!!! The market is held by the cheapest, not the best. Walmart must have the highest quality stuff too . You pay a premium for a Mac, there is a reason, it is called superiority. The real free market is the stock market my friend. That is where you compare who is the best. Let's see, Microsoft shares closed at $30.89 today. Apple closed at $108.74. Hmmm, wonder who the better quality product is. Ya, but millionaires don't know anything . Rant over.
