what speaker size

Hey all,

I have an amp, sub, and head unit, and need to replace the stock speakers with aftermarkets


Does anyone know what the speaker sizes are?

6x8...and you cant reuse the factory speaker wires. You gotta run fresh wire. If you figure out how to get the amp out inside the dash lemme know. This is assuming you have the mach 460 of course..which you may not. But yea all speakers are 6x8 the mach system had component speakers tho.

I reused the stock wires after bypassing my Mach 460. You have to do some custom splicing for the front doors, so you can power the 6x8 since it's only the tweeter (next to the mirror) that gets power when you bypass the factory amps. If you reuse the factory enclosure under the rear deck, you can also use the factory wiring, but there is some cutting involved back there, too. I don't remember which ones since it's been a while, but you can use all factory wiring with an aftermarket stereo and speakers.

k thx guys, i had the mach stuff (amps removed) and the speakers rewired a couple years ago by a shop, I have fresh lines and everything is hooked up except for the speakers which are stock. Is there still alot of work involved at this point?

cant i just pop some 6X8's in

If you have fresh wires to the speakers...your good to go. Just swap the speakers and your done.

i found the sizes, tweeter 2.5 inch

5.5X7.5 in front

5.25 speakers in the rear

Oh yea sorry vert is different.....I forgot about that. WHen I was looking into all this I only looked at the hard top stuff. The project is now on hiatus, pending my custom cam purchase, install, and dyno tuning.
