what street tire to use?

I have a 1987 ford mustang with about 280 horses and I need some help on what tires to get. I have heard a lot of good things about the mickey thompson et street's but I need a tire to drive every day. I want a tire that is going to bite but I need to drive them every day so I need a harder tire. what would be a good tire to use on my 16 inch pony wheels. I have 225/55-r16's on them now.

definately nittos. i have a set and am getting another pair this summer. these other ones lasted a few years, 3 i think to be exact. i hear these last the longest compared to other DR's. they may not be as sticky as the other brands, but they are sticky enough for me and last a long time. does anyone know where to get a cheap pair of these? i ordered mine from summit or jegs last time.

Drag radials arn't really good for a DD. You can do it, but you'll have to be real carfull in the rain, espicially at highway speeds.

Nitto's will last the longest, but are not near as sticky as other DR's. BFG's stick good but wear super fast, and don't have much tread to begin with, you'll be lucky to get over 3000miles out of them. MT DR's are suposed to be good and sticky, but don't wear as fast from what I have heard, and have lots of thread.

I run nitto 555 street radials for regular driving and I have a pair of 16" pony rims with MT 255/50/16 DRs on them. No complaints about either tire.

I have the Nitto Drag radials and am simply amazed by the amount of grip they offer. I've got about 300 rwhp and can easily put it to the ground once they are warm. If the outside temp is 40 or below they are real slick but I've not noticed too many bad manners in the rain.
