You can get it alot cheaper other places. The Mongoose kit from MPH is one example. I got my complete vortech kit intalled and dyno tuned for 4500 from a local mustang shop. Unless that has an intercooler or something, but that would still be high. The Mongoose kit comes with a tune that has been proven time and time again to be dead on. I would call modularpowerhouse before you spend 7k.

I think your getting screwed, is that with instalation too? Also what Intercooler are you getting or are you getting the Vortech Aftercooler?
Mongoose Kit - $3900
Paxton A/A IC - $1500
Tune - $185 (As you stated for a retune)
Install - $500 (Roughly I don't know what a typical shop charges for an install)
Total: $6085
Something doesn't add up to me?
Plus, i would go with a DIY custom A/A IC for less than half the cost.
Just wanted to clarify some issues. First, ATI does not supply or build MAFs with their Procharger kits. I run a Lightening MAF on my setup. Second, a little internet search will tell you that ATI builds the most efficient air to air intercooler on the market of those that are available with factory intercoolers. Are there some aftermarket intercoolers that are more efficient? Probably. The problem with intercooler efficiency is the front facia design on the 00-04 GT Mustangs. They are poorly designed when wanting to utilize an intercooler, so their efficiency is far from optimum. Now install a Cobra SVT nose (bumper) on your GT and you will probably gain upwards of 25% more cooling efficiency, which can translate into more hp. One other point is that the P1 and D1 blowers are gear driven and is the only centri gear driven blower on the market. This is one of the reasons that their blowers have less power surge than the others on the market. All the blowers out there have their pluses and minuses, but I think the info that we feed others who are looking to make a decision about purchasing one should be as accurate as possible. In all fairness, it's hard to be objective when you own a particular supercharger. Our comments tend to be subjective rather than objective because, afterall, no one would want to tell you that we spent 4K on a supercharger they didn't like.
I know multiple people that have ran or are running Prochragers and they have had tunning problems with them, two people had leaking seals and they made less power than most guys with blowers I know. I know two guys with 98 Cobras and both dynoed 15rwhp from each other before the blower. They both installed blowers, one an SQ Trim the other a PS1C, on the same boost the Vortech made 45 rwhp more than Procharger and the Vortech wasn't even IC/AC.
Also there is a GT in another town I know with a Procharger and back when I had just the blower with exhaust and gears we raced and I beat him by 3 cars. He had same mods as me but with TB/PLenum too.
As for the Intercoolers, look them up they dont flow near as well and don't keep IATs as low as say a Paxton or other ICs.
Its not tht big of deal to tap the oil pan. I had more problems getting the rubber sleve to fit over the 90mm LMAF than tapping the pan. LOL
If you were aking me how much my blower cost it was $3500-$3600, I dont remember exactly. Also with the MOngoose kit you get EVERYTHING you need, even tune. MPH has some of the best mail order tune around.

And since this discussion has been limited to relate to street applications, I will limit the content here to just that. ATI doesn't even sell the tubing for the conversion to a blow thru, let alone the MAF. There are a few aftermarket companies that sell the MAF and the straight line tubing for this conversion, but ATI does not. The problem is you need to have quite a bit of straight line tubing for a blow thru setup just before the MAF to ease the tuning issues that relate to air flow accuracy. There really is very little room on the ATI instructed fender well install for this. This very well maybe the tuning problem that you have been hearing about. I'm holding in front of me ATI's Procharger Owners manual, as well as their catalog and I find no blow thru application.
I have a procharger. When my car was on the dyno it made 381 rwhp 405 rwtrq and didnt even have an exhaust on it. Dont bash procharger if you have never owned one.

Would you like me to scan the piping assembly for my procharger owners manual? Procharger does nothing but blow-though. I think you have them mixed up. Vortech does the draw though design with the MAF PRE-blower. I run blow though on my car and have been for many years.
Does anyone make or can you get the roots style like seen on the newer cars. This would be for a 2000 4.6l Thanks
