What T/B & Plenum for a stock GT?

70 is fine unless eventually you are going to supercharge it. i had the option of buying the 70 for now but i figure that since i am going to supercharge my car eventually i might as well get the 75.

How is the idle? Does upgrading the T/B & plenum make the car idle different than stock. Right now my car idles like it's still new & it's a 2000. Drove a friend 03 GT that he just bought the other day & feels like mines. Don't want to lose that smooth idle.
My car idles as good or better than stock. But I had more than tb/plenum done.

someone really need to make a sticky about this tb issue. throttle body size when adding a new plenum is really related to which plenum you buy. ther is no rule of thumb.

If you think the 70mm tb and the c&l will work better you would be wrong. If you spend the extra money for a 75mm for an accufab you wasted you money.

as far as Idle I noticed nothing diffenet.

there is a lot of miss information that gets spread about tb size because a tb without a plenum upgrade does not do anything. so people think that will apply when you replace the plenum and they are wrong. you bolt a 75mm on you stocker and you wasted you money. with tons of mods a 70mm maybe would give you 2 hp.

the bottom line it is all about the combo. there are no blanket statement about which tb is best. it depends on what you are bolting that tb to.

also something to consider. this is not the first mod I would do to a car. open up your exhaust or put some cams in first. once the car needs more air then start to bring more in. I was going to get my cams first but I stumbled across a steal on ebay I could not pass up.

more air is better :)

if you have any doubts, just stick with the 70mm TB, i am sure you'll be very happy with it. it flows plenty of air for an N/A car :nice:
What's the deal with everyone that is saying that they lose low end power with a bigger T/B. I don't understand. Is it noticeable?

People say they lose end end power with X-pipes. I just had mines installed with a Magnaflow Tru-X & feels like I gained low end power. What's the theory behind the T/B.

I just posted about this issue today. Yeah, you will feel some loss of low end torque with a 70-75mm throttle body. I noticed the loss occurs from around 2000-2800. After that it's smooth sailing. I still haven't determined which I like better, but I will say a full 1st gear pull seems to be better with the 70.

don't believe them until you see dyno proof. its as simple as that. till then its just more BS on the net.
