What the heck is that sound?

I'm sure it's normal, but I've never had a car do this before.

Every time I turn the engine off, there's this whine, kinda like a turbine winding down, for about 7-8 seconds. What the heck is that?

It's one of your gauges... next time you turn the car off, watch the gauges closely. The noise goes away when the needles go all the way to the left.

its not the guages, those sound like a oven timer. i have the "turbine" sound as well. it has always done it, so i a not too concerned with it. i have had my stang for a year and a half and no problems from that sound yet.

I noticed mine does this when the air conditioner is on when I'm driving and then turn the car off. I don't notice it at all when I don't run the air conditioner.

The engine / radiator fans are electric.

I kind of get a similar whine sound if press my clutch in all the way and roll to a stop. Is that normal?

Yeah, that's normal. You're hearing the transmission input shaft, clutch and pressure plate spinning to a stop after the pedal is pushed in.
