what the heck is this?

A couple weeks ago my driver's side window started rolling up too far. I adjusted the stops on the window and fixed it, sorta. When I had the door apart I found this laying in the bottom of the door, anybody know what it is? Everything still works fine, just one less part!

I had the same issue. Took the panel off. Bent the "L" bracket and fixed the problem. I don't remember seeing a piece that looks like that. There's something rattling in my door. [I found an old rusty chisel in there last time.] When I open the panel up next time, I'll look for the part that you show in your picture.

That looks like an alignment bracket or something, the bottom of that piece looks like it holds onto the glass, and the plastic part should go in a guide or something to make the window go straight. At least that's what I think it is, because it looks familiar. There was a similar piece on a Chevy S10 I worked on once.

Just 2 weeks ago..my pass door was rattling bad. I moved the window up and down..Then I heard something metal drop to the bottom of the door! The sound is now gone. I was going to take the panel off...but the window still works fine and the rattle is gone. So I'm just going to leave it alone!

Wow! It sounds like the guy at the assembly plant putting the passenger doors together for the two years our cars were made, was smoking weed or something!

Hey I found that piece in my door too, it was rattling, I just took it out

I also have something rattling around in my drivers door. Ford probably had a overstock of that part and didn't want to pay to dispose of it, so they threw it in before they sealed the door panel.
