So I thought that it would be a breeze to finish up my T5 swap but I was wrong. When I push in the clutch it doesn't come back. I guess the question is what makes the pedal push back out? It's been so long since I took it apart and I'm pretty sure I put everything back together right but obviously I'm wrong. What 2 points does the return spring connect to?

Yave you got a juice clutch, a cable, or linkeage?

Stock linkage for now. I'm gonna swithch to a cable next year but I'm running out of time (and $).

There is a small lever that pushes on the throwout bearing which pushes on a rod which pushes on the pressure plate, to engage the clutch. Alot of times either this lever (i forget the name of it) or the throwout bearing is shot.
 
Hey! 67Coupe! You said you're using stock linkage. Is that for the 67? Did you use the stock 67 bellhousing or the one from the T5? What year is the T5 from? On the later model transmissions which use a cable for the clutch release, the throwout bearing fork pivots on the pass. side of the inside of the bellhousing. The pressure plate fingers return the fork. The pedal itself has a small spring to return it. On your 67, the fork pivots on a ball attached to the driver side of the bellhousing. The 67 fork needs to be pushed, and the lste model needs to be pulled. So, tell us what you've got.
 
Ok, thanks! That means you have a rod going from your current clutch pedal (inside the car below the pivot) to the top of the clutch pivot bracket (attached between the engine and frame) and a rod going from the lower part of the bracket to the throwout bearing fork. Am I correct? If so, you are trying to push the fork instead of pulling it. They have a kit for this swap available to correct the difference in direction. Check for it online.
