Well my car started knocking like a son of a bitch AGAIN today. Been hearing a weird wooshing noise kinda like the metal exhuast leak woosh noise so i thought it was just an exhuast leak. well pulled away from a light and heard a jackhammer thought they were working on a road near by till I kept hearing the sound so I turned down the radio and it was my car. Replaced the lifters and push rods like last year so i kinda don't think its a lifter plus it sounds louder then when they went. And I laid my head on my intake and it sounds like its coming from stright down in the center. Cam maybe?

And to make it all worst my trucks at a dealer caus the CEL's been on since the winter for the Torque converter clutch seloniold/overdrive performance. Car was runnign good and no more snow so I was finially able to get it in. They called yesterday and said the light was on for the TCC/od thing AND an evap issues said theres lines that go to my canister that are cracked and leaking. But the trans thing they had to drop the trans and see what part was actually the problem I guess it could be like 3 different things and she was suppose to call me back today and never did. And We're going camping on the 26 and I was gonna take my car. I knew the car was gonna crap out on my when I got the truck in the shop. People always made fun of me for having so many cars for "back ups" But the back up always breaks down when the other is getting fixed

Anyway heres a couple vids you car hear the knock. If it comes to needed to tear it down again I think i'm gonna park it till i get the cash for the TFS kit, headers, MAF and INJ's.

Or just sell the bitch lol

sounds like when i had a bad lifter... hmm... is it possible one of the rockers are hitting the valve cover? i would say pull off the VC's and see if you can push any of the lifters down by pressing on the rockers and look for anything outta place

Wow, when you said it sounded like a jackhammer I was thinking "yeah right"... Are you sure it is internal to the motor? to me is sounds like someone put a card in your spokes...

wow IMO it seems like a push rod. i think if a rocker was broken you could feel it on the VC. i also want to say maybe a valve broke loose, but my money is on a broken push rod.
i think we can pretty much say it's in the valvetrain some where from the push rod to the valve.
keep us posted

Does it still run strong? Like does it seem to be down on power like one cylinder isn't working?

What about a compression test? Or maybe pulling the plugs wires one at a time to see if there is a difference on one cylinder... Both easy things to do to at least target where to look...

I really think that if it was a lifter, pushrod, or a rocker you would hear/feel it on the VC.

You won't necessarily feel it on the VC. Hell, when my rockers were actually hitting the VC, I couldn't really feel it but I could he it with the stethoscope. I recommend picking up a stethoscope from CSK or Sears. It's worth every penny to have one. I could pinpoint pretty much exactly where the rockers were hitting the VC's.

It could be a totally F'd up lifter. I would first pull the VC's and feel around the valve train and remove your rockers and pushrods. If a lifter is shot, you should be able to see some abnormal wear patterns on the pushrod end. If you still find nothing, pull the intake and lifters. It's definitely something in the valvetrain though.

Or when the lifter went bad last year you could slightyl damaged a cam lobe. And now the lobe is wiped out.

Wytstang (sorry man all this stress I forgot your name) Thats what I thought.

Chris seems to run fine just loud as hell

John thats what i was kinda figuring on doing maybe pulling off the VC's and turn the motor by hand and see if anything looks shady

Took it to my garage guy he said its def up top somewhere. And when i said if it comes down to pulling it all i'm buyingthe kit and doing teh heads and cam this time tired of taking it all apart and he said I'd probably be better off.

UPDATE on the Dodge: Torque converter and the pump in the trans is shot. Can't get a new pump till sometime next week. Total will be 2012.21 for fixing everything thats wrong that I listed in the other post and testing, taking the trans apart and putting in back in. Unless the warrenty covers some but they don't cover the trans ****

Well my crazy father thinks If i spend almost 3000 on the kit I should do a full rebuild OR skip the kit and buy a crate motor. Don't know where he thinks I'm getting the cash for all this
