What thermostat does everyone here use?

Mr. Gasket High flow 160. They can get them at Advance for about $9.

What was your situation/problem that prompted the 160? Where does the engine run at operating temp? Which radiator do you run?

I had a 180* in mine, still ran around 200* though. Thinking about dropping to a 160* to see how it runs, since they are so cheap it cant hurt:shrug:

My car was running a little on the hot side. The Mr. Gasket fixed the problem for sure. It runs at about 180-190 degrees when the fan kicks on. As soon as the fan comes on it cools right back down. I run a Steeda aluminum radiator. The only downside to the Mr. Gasket is that I don't have heat anymore. All the water flows to the radiator and nothing gets to the heater core.

Yeah, I went with the 160, because I wanted the car to run about 180 degrees, and the 180 wouldn't necessarily be at max flow at that temperature. Even with the 160, it seldom is below 180 anyway.

My T Stat is sticking on me right now its not that old either just over a year but Im going to get a MR Gasket one. The one I have now is a JET one that I got from summit.

If you want a standard thermostat, go to the dealer and get an original one. All the aftermarket companies use a Stant thermostat and relabel it. Stant is absolute garbage. I went through 4 of them in less than a month on a small block chevy. And their suposed fail open system always fails closed. Some of the autoparts stores used to sell Robertshaw thermostats, but their market share fell so much, they just stopped making them.
