I recently purchased replice cobra Rs (yeah I know) 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear. I want to make the car look musclely so I want some 255 or 245 in the front. I really don't want 315 in the back cause of fitment problems so what size do you guys recommend between 275 and 315?. Also, I have no clue in what the sidewall size should be. What tires do you guys suggest? I don't go to the track at all and wet and dry traction is a must for me. So any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I have 245s up front and 315s in the back with no fitment problems. Is fitment a word? Anyway, they are 35s in back also. I did take my quad shock off but that was because of the LCAs I was putting on.

I have some 245's up front (soon to be 255's) and the 315's in the back. The 315's will fit, if you flip the quad shocks or take them off. The next set I am going to get though will be smaller. I am really looking for some 295's, but havnt found any. So 285's it is then. I have heard that the Nitto tires actually fit a little bit smaller than most, if you wanted to go with the 315's and still have them fit. No personal experiience with them though.

You should go with 255/40 up front and 275/40 out back.

You won't have any problems.

I was thinking Kumho ECSTA MX tires. 255/45 front and 285/40 rear. Both are 26.1" whereas the 245/45 and 315/35 are both 25.7"

Is a 245 size tire strecthing it too far on a 17x9 rim? How come on some the rear tires the sidewall is 5mm smaller than the fronts? Anybody have pics? Thanks.

That number 45 vs 40 is not in mm. It is an aspect ratio or percentage of the tire width.

Height of a tire = [tire width(mm) x aspect ratio x .01 x 2 / 25.4] + wheel diameter(inches)

Example: 275/40R17
(275 x 40 x .01 x 2 / 25.4) + 17 = 25.7"

245/45 on a 17X9 wheel is fine. 255/45 is better. 275/40 is about max.
