I have to drive from Florida to Oklahoma in a week, and was wondering what tires I need. right now I have Nitto 555's and I might run into snow or rain on the way home, and I know these are not going to work.

What is the best street tire there is? I need it to hook(i have over 500lbs of torque BTW) and be able to drive in the snow, rain, or whatever esle i might get in.

No tire that will work well in snow is going to be good for a powerful car like that...with tires it's give and take...sticky tires aren't going to work well in wet or icy conditions, and winter tires aren't going to hook as well...

If you are just going to use them for the winter the BFG g-Force KDWS are a 4 season tire that's made for dry, wet, and snow conditions...

You're fooked! Nothing short of chains is going to help you out with 500ftlbs of torque on icy or snow covered roads.

gsd3's, or my toyo t1's did allright last year, then again, I only have 3.5" of ground clearence, at the trans mount. but the toyos got around good in the light stuff. gsd3's gonna spend some bucks.

I'd rent a SUV. I wouldn't want to drive my cobra thru all that salt and slag on the roadways when you run into snow.

so my tires don't do as well as I remembered from last year. had maybe an inch of snow a couple of nights ago, driveable, fun not really, the lighest hit on the pedal, and sideways. but even on dry cold pavement, things get interesting, in first which is useless during a takeoff, and then second, once it hits the power band spin spin. good luck !!!!

I just put BF Goodrich G-force tires on my 94 and apparently they're pretty decent in the snow and rain. I had to drive home in the snow the other day and I wasn't sliding around nearly as much as I used to with my GT.

I would go with BFG'S KDWS. I got caught in snow once in late FEbruary 2002 with those and they got me home. They also pulled 2.005 60ft time at the track...hehe
