OK, Im in the market here soon for osme new tires. My BFG's have seen better days.

Here's my current options:

M/T ET Streets
M/T ET Drags
Hoosier Quicktime Pros (i think thats their name)

Im on a 15x7 rim (i know, i know). Im not upgrading my irm because they dont make my style Warriors anymore.

So what size should I get and which tire?

My goal......I want to hook. I want to do a good burnout, roll to thel ine, sidestep the lcutch at 4k RPM and dead hook.....I know I gotta worry about my rearend and my T5 but thats something for worries later on...not now.

the car is only driven on the weekends and wont see much time on the roads....i know how it is to drive in rian so not a concern. Itll be staying on the fats/skinnies and these tires. It is NOT and will NEVER be a daily driver ever again. But I want it to retain some street manners without traction being an issue.

Basically, I want a street friendly tire thatll hook liek a bitch street or strip.

Any other tire suggestions, shoot em out there. Not going back to BFG's and NO WAY IN HELL going to Nittos.

Thanks.

well i like my ET Drags. However these are not street legal in any way what so ever. So with those on forget about occasional cruise. They hook sweet. on a 15x7 inch rim i was running a 26 in x 10.5 in wide et drag.

i like the Hoosier Quick Time Pro's.

They seem to last alot longer than the ET Streets and they are only 10-15 dollars more per tire.

I run 27 x 10.5 x 15 but im stepping up to 28's when these wear out.

When you run the car in the 1/4 what are you going through the trap at? RPM wise

never used hoosiers, but i think my e.t. streets got a lot of life in them. lol, last summer i used to street rqace with them every weekend, not to mention the occasional test and tune.

and oh yeah, word to the wise... dont street race, notice how i said LAST summer? well, this summer i no longer have a licence, so be careful out there lol.

OK, so the Quicktime Pros are the Drag Radials, right? Im not neccesarily worried about the "street legal" part of it all. My car will, like I said, see the track once a week, driven on friday/saturday nights and on sundays. Wont beo ut ALOT since I work quite a bit. Just those itmes when I need to have a lil fun.

And my friend brought up a good point. If the cop pulls me over for tires, he'll still find something to cite my car for one way or another even if I have ET Streets.

My biggest fear here is I buy osmething and I STILL spin out of the hole. I like to launch at about 4-5k RPM dumpingo ut of the ohle and shiftl iek no tommorrow. Im quite agressive and relentless on my car so I know the consequences of dead hooking as opposed to myl il tire spin I get now with the BFG's. Like I said, I need some traction.

As for what I trap.....this year Ive only had it out once and its in the 1/8th. I ran a pathetic 8.76@80MPH with a blown drivers side head gasket. However, my 60's would NEVER come off the 1.9x's...best I could get was a 1.95 and ran my best time with an 1.99 60 ft. I havent changed ANYTHING in my suspension and lost .2 in my 60 fts. Ive added more Horsepower but apparantly my tires have finalyl seen better days...theyve been bald isnce last summer and seen a few thousand miles since then.

So, keep it coming guys!
