what to do with $500..

Well my 18th birthday was Tuesday and I have about $500 to put towards the horse. I was wanting to get to some opinions with what I should do next to her. Right now I have flows and bbk o/r h-pipe, pretty pathetic but you gotta start somewhere. So if you guys would give some suggestions on what I should buy that would be appreciated. Also, I trying to stay with performance, not looks, sterio, ect... thats good enough already.

damn its gonna be like christmas when all the parts come in haha, i would go with gears, a few bolts ons, and suspension, to get specific, gears of course, 3.73, or 4.10, throttle body, cai, fuel injectors, springs, sub fram connectors, u cant get all those but choose a few those are all probaly good things to start with, definetly get gears tho, do u have someone to instal? it wouls suck if u buy a 100 dollar part and the rest goes on labor

Buy 3.73 gears (about $160),Cold air kit (about $140),a E303 cam ( about $170),and intake spacer (about $50).It's a little over ($20) but it will give you more power and a platform for futur mods.

Subframes, thats the wise first mod. Maybe a STB if there is some $ left after the install. I want some MM full length subs on mine. Many, many launches twist the unibody and crack floor pans. If you want to make more power, that is what you do first IMHO.

Gears. If thats all you can buy with $500 (including labor and rebuild of trac-lok of course) I would still go with gears. But I doubt it will cost 500 bucks for everything. I would order gears ASAP though, thats next on my list.

a cam??? that would make him lose perf on a stock motor wouldnt it? maybe if he wants it to sound sick but i wouldnt put a cam in a stock motor, haha dont look at my sig, lol i didnt put my cam in but hey its there, but if i had the choice i wouldnt have put it in, still go with gears thats a must then suspension u really want a good suspension a stock motor on a incredible suspension can give u amazing results of course ur not going to have tha but u get my point

yeah unless ur running better flowing heads then E7, and a better intake then a cam is about pointless,

agreed with the gears, save your money on a cold air intake and just get a cone K&N filter , its the same performance

so far mentioned will run u about 400 including install on the gears

if ur car is a 5 speed id buy a used pro 5.0 or find another 50 bucks and get a brand new one

o yea thats also good, a shifter will be really good those are my nex mods gears and shifter when i get some cash, the k&n filter and removing air silencer is a good little mod to about like5hp and its really cheap and u can do urself

I said put the cam in beacuse my old 86' motor would only go up to 5300rpm.
And that SUCKS!

haha when do u rev over 5300 rpm? lol thats really not necessary, especcially on a beginner bolt on mods car, my dads 67 mustang revs past 11k rpm no joke, i bet that has one hell of a cam, those cars probaly didnt have rev limiters, but he still hasent blown the motor

If you want to get into suspension than I would put some lift bar's on it (Lakewood gots some nice one out for $170)and front springs for faster wieght transfer.
I would still put the gear in thou.If you got an AOD put 4:10's in if T-5 3.73's.

if u have aod put 4.10's in blue is right but if u have t-5 i would say also 4.10 its a very long topic on witch gears to get on a t-5 half will tell u 3.73 half will tell u 4.10 i would say 4.10 its really all opinion, what u have to do is find a friend that has gears and see which u like more, it would probaly be easier if u have a aod lol, but t-5's are alot funner and faster

ha thats nothing, haha j/k my dad has a 289 in his 67 with 351 windosor heads, not sure what cam and all the other internals, but that thing revs past 12k rom, the rpom meter only goes to 10k and he can bring the meter all the way back around to like 1500rpm
