damn its gonna be like christmas when all the parts come in haha, i would go with gears, a few bolts ons, and suspension, to get specific, gears of course, 3.73, or 4.10, throttle body, cai, fuel injectors, springs, sub fram connectors, u cant get all those but choose a few those are all probaly good things to start with, definetly get gears tho, do u have someone to instal? it wouls suck if u buy a 100 dollar part and the rest goes on labor

youre right on everything except fuel injectors...you dont need new fuel injectors unless you are running lots of nitrous or more than like 320 hp or something around there

ha thats nothing, haha j/k my dad has a 289 in his 67 with 351 windosor heads, not sure what cam and all the other internals, but that thing revs past 12k rom, the rpom meter only goes to 10k and he can bring the meter all the way back around to like 1500rpm

would his last name happen to be andretti, and does he drive indy cars?

haha when do u rev over 5300 rpm? lol thats really not necessary, especcially on a beginner bolt on mods car, my dads 67 mustang revs past 11k rpm no joke, i bet that has one hell of a cam, those cars probaly didnt have rev limiters, but he still hasent blown the motor

didnt you just get a mustang also?

I hated the 4.10's with the 5 speed.
It revved too fast on the juice, you have to shift ever second.
It was almost as fast in the 1/8 with the 3.73 than the 4.10's if I would have had 300 more rpm's I wouldn't have to shift into 4th just before the line.It was either over revv and lose power or shift and cross the line before I can let the clutch out.It was that close. With the 4.10 I would have been in 4th gear in the 1/8 mile witch mean using over drive in the 1/4.now you see why I need the cam,to get the extra rpm's in 3rd.

why not just advance your came a few degrees to raise your power band to get those couple hundred rpms?

I have 4.10s in my car with a tremec 3550. They came with the car when I bought it but I like them, especially on the highway.

Full length sub-frame connectors with seat supports. 4.10's and a Pro-5.0 shifter if you have a T5. If you plan on doing a H/C/I upgrade in a couple years I think the 4.10's would be better suited once you get your motor reving higher.

Drag radials once you get the rear gears installed.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I'm going to order 3.73's and cold air intake for now and then see where i'm at with money. For those who wanted to know, I live in Riverview.. right outside of Brandon. I go Kenny Causeway bridge on Sats around 11p-12a. Cya

Gears, cold air intake, u/d pulleys, subframes (ebay is the way to go for all these ) Or you can put about 400 to and intake manifold....i'm also 1% of 17 yr old stang owners(i have 3, lol)

o i didnt get what u mean, well i really wasent saying he is a beginner i was saying his car is like begining to get beginer parts lol like bolt ons and stuff, im a beginer too but that wasent what i was saying, and my dads last name isnt adnretti lol but his car really does rev past 12k rpm i can even make a vid the next time we take it out, its at the body shop getting a complete ground up restoration to get off all the rust and stuff but when we get it back i will get a vid of that meter flying, the tranny also is a top loader so it winds up really quick in 1st even tho it is high gears like 2.75 he can rev it up to like 12k in like 1st and second then in 3rd 4th and 5th he goes alot lower to like 7 or 8, thats only when were going fast tho normal shifts are at about 5-6k the thing idles at like 2k

its not just the cam that's hurting a stock 5.0 on the top end. the stock intake and heads don't breathe all that well on the top end.

as for what to do, gears are a great recommendation, but to offer up something completely different, how about a tmoss ported lower and a pair of thumper's ported e7's. i think that'll put you a little over budget, but it'll make one heck of a difference in performance.

Actually I look and it looks like even the stock heads could benift from a larger cam.
Or better yet,rocker arms.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
