Well my stock h pipe has been sittin in my closet for about 6 months now and i need to get rid of it within the next couple weeks since im goin back home after this semester at school is over.

I cant seem to sell it, its posted on ebay right now but i doubt it will sell, it is also in several classified sections across several mustang boards including this one.

My question is, if i cant sell it, what should i do with it? I really hate to just throw it away, i mean wouldnt the cats atleast be worth keeping or should i just trash the whole thing?

I would keep it for inspection time. I know here in Tx they have strick emissions laws. So when Inspection time comes around I have to throw my stocker back on.

yea i thought the same thing, but turns out all they do if you have a 96+ is hook up to your computer and check to see if you have any emission related codes. I have the diablo tuner which shuts off the rear 02 sensors so i get no codes and i passed inspection

I think some junkyards or recycling centers will pay you for used catalytic converters off of the pipes. You could call around and ask.

most people on these sites arent interested in buying stock parts. i would rather buy an O/R Xpipe. i really dont think that you will sell it. i would just say it is trash!!!

Save it. If you sell the car the next owner might want it.

Or you could be like me and save it so when i sell i can turn the car back to 100% stock and then sell the aftermarket parts off

Just take it to the junkyard. I saved all my stock parts from my '93 GT and all they did was take up space. Tried to sell them. Nope. When I sold the '93 I tried to give him all the stock parts. Nope. So when I moved, I just took everything to the junkyard. Problem solved.

someone will want the cats. I sold mine for 50 bucks shipped on ebay. You may wanna put in the ad that you will be willing to seperate the cats for people that just want those.

The cats are worth something. But just hang onto it. Someone will need it. I kept mine for over a year. I had a for sale ad on a local message board. Someone needed it and I sold it for $20. It's nice to help out someone who is trying to return their car to stock.

you might want to keep it just in case you need it to pass your visual portion of the inspection. i know mine failed the first time for visually not having any cats. now im a licensed state inspector so i can hook myself up here at work theres a guy who comes around and buys old used parts. we call him the core guy. anyway, he pays $50 per cat con we take off, so im wondering if he'll pay me $200 for my stock midpipe w/ 4 cats....

Keep it. After you see what you would have to pay for one from Ford, you may change your mind.
