I finally have some money to throw around and i can't make up my mind on what i should do. Should a buy a 80's fox body and build a 302 ( how fast are they stock any way? i heard they have 150hp, would it beat a 300zx?...?) or should i buy a 300zx and drop a sick turbo? mean while i would use my 2000 sixer as my daily driver and my other car to ride around whenever and i can't find much info about the cars so if you could direct me to a good place that would be awesome thanks

If you mean 87-89, they had ~215 HP. They can be had for a dime a dozen and if you have the money to purchase and repair/rebuild, then go for it.

I have my 6er for daily driving, and an 88 5.0 for a track car
Insurance on 5.0s is great!

5.0s are slow stock especially in autos the only ones that are decently quick stock are the notch back 5.0s i would DEFNATLY buy a notch back (mustang with a trunk not the ones that have hatch backs) and build a 302 and drop it in, you should be in the 12s all day long with not to terribly much invested a 300zx.... they will cost FAR to much for you to do anything with... a 302 you can get crap for for DIRT CHEAP and you will be faster with no turbo needed.

I had considered putting the 308 into my 00 but the wiring will be hell. Practically everything in the engine bay would have to be swapped out. It would be easier going carb'd with the 5.0, but still no cake walk. I think I am going to just go with the 4.6 swap and unload the 308. I found a 4.6 for real cheap thats a complete donor car, but I just dont know for sure if I want to go that route of just go 4.2????
