Hello, me and my dad saw this 1965 Mustang (click on link) http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/640341844.html and were planning on looking at it tommorow. My dad already spoke to the owner and found out that the interior is pretty much gone and nees to be redone, and that the driver's floorboard was rusted out. Also the 289 is out of the car. I was wondering what other problem or trouble areas we should look for tomorrow?
Thanks for the help

So the ad is NOT correct, when it says NO RUST. If the floor board is bad, the cowl, rear quarter behind the wheels. Usually that is rusted thru.
Is it true or not engine runs good. It's not in so how do you know?
New carb on an old motor might mean he was having issues with it and tried a new carb to fix it. Might not have worked.
$3200 for a non rusted running good 289 is LOW. Something else must be wrong.
cause if that were true $5k is more the asking price. Even if it were in pieces.
Like A67stangmaster said "check everywhere"

In the advertisement he claims "No rust" but tells you the drivers floor is gone, I'd be leary on this guy from the get-go.
Always and I mean ALWAYS, check the cowl. Pour a cup or two of water down there and check for leaks under the dash.

Other fun areas include but are not limited to -
Front and Rear frame rails
Battery Tray
Torque boxes (not sure if this car would have any or not)
Trunk area in general, check all the crevices, down in the quarter area too
Lower areas of the doors love to rust up as well
Quarter panels
