Hi, I was just wondering if anybody here could help me find out what tranny i have. I am interested in buying a short throw shifter for it. From what i ve heard i have the t3650 but im not 100% so i would like your input. I have a 2001 mustang GT (convt. if that makes a difference). Thanks in advance. -Steven

Doesnt that depend on the build date? I thought they still used the T-45 untill mid 01.

you can check it out by the code on your drivers side door. if you have the letter K under TR then you have a 3650. if not you have a T45. you can also check the build date. they switched to the 3650 in 8/01

he could have either T-45 or TR3650
if ur going to give someone an adovice, please at least check your fact.
Ford changed transmission in our car from T-45 to TR-3650 in sometime late 01 model year. Mine was built on Sept. of 00, and is equipped with T-45.
with that being said, there is trans code on built sheet sticker( i guess thats what it called?). if you have "K" under TR, then you have TR-3650, and if you have "6" under TR, then you have T-45.

Also, quickest way to tell is that if your car grind in to reverse, then your more then likely to have T-45
