I have a 93 GT, about 107k miles. My plan is to build a 331 stroker this summer. I also might supercharge eventually too. But my question is, what transmission should i go with. I figure if im pulling the engine, why not do something about the old t-5. What do you guys suggest? And is a tremec 500 the same as a tko? I know that might be a stupid question, but just wanted to make sure. I don't plan on building a full on race car, but i do expect extra power from the 331 and sc, if i go the sc route. This car is my daily driver right now, and also have to keep in mind a budget. Any opinions, ideas...... Thanks!

- rebuild T-5?
- tremec 500 or 600? (same as TKO 500/600?)
- T-56?
- G-force?

Also, while im here. For the 331, what are some good stroker kits to consider? Are eagle kits any good? I see kits ranging from 700-1300. What should i be looking at, flat top, dome, etc?? I was thinking about getting a sportsman block for under a grand. I also found a rebuilt 331 short block for 1800(not sure what kind of block though), forged internals, comes with 6 month warranty, does that sound like a good deal? Or do you think i could build the sportsman block better? I need as much help as i can get. Oh, and if anyone knows of good deals or places to order from, let me know. On both the tranny and stroker kits/block.

TKO600 would be my choice, McLeod SFI bell

As far as the stroker parts, depends on the HP you want to make in the future. With boost on your brain I would strongly suggest a Forged crank set-up, this would use a dish piston. If I can help let me know link is in my sig....

i think rick is making a good suggestion. the tko 600 is rated at 600 ft/lbs so i doubt you would be ever destroying that tranny. the tko 500 is rated at 500 ft/lbs of torques. either would be a good choice. yes don't forget about a scatter shield bellhousing. if lets say your clutch or flywheel came off with your standard alumiun belhousing would not contain the parts and odds are you would lose your feet. something to think about.
