what type of oil and gas do you use?

Mobil 1 10w-30 and a K&N oil filter.

Gas... when I was in Vegas I'd only fill up with Chevron midgrade (87), now in Colorado I can't find any Chevrons so I'm using BP midgrade (87). I think BP (British Petrolium) is Amoco and a couple reliable sources have said it's good clean gas.

I also use Rocky Mountain high altitude air for my intake... :p :D

well this is good to know, until i do any serious mods im stickin with 87 octane, especially with how gas prices are goin. As far as oil goes, i used 10w-30 like ive always done. Is this a no no or is the 5w-30 better for the modulars?

The thinnest weight oil you can run and still maintain good oil pressure is what you should run (unless you're under warranty, in which case stick with 5w20.)

You should be able to maintain decent pressure with 5w20 until your engine tolerances start increasing, or your bearings start wearing down. You can run a higher weight in the summer if you need to. I run 5w20 all year (I live in the desert though..) and maintain oil pressure just fine. My '88 5.0 holds normal pressure with 5 or 10w30.. my wife's Jeep ZJ needs 15w50 to stay up.

I would say 5w30 would be fine.. but 10 is a little thick at startup for a newish modular motor.
