What type of oil pan to use on late-model 5.0?

Do I have to use a special oil pan for a 1 piece rear main seal?

I hope not, I bought a cheap version 8qt of the Milodon (it's a Muldoon) off this guy and really want to use it. So far, I can't find a pick-up for it nor do I know if it will work on my engine with a 1 piece rear main seal.

For you guys that have late-model 5.0 engines in yours, what kinda oil pan are you using? I may have to use a stock pan if nothing else.

Just use the one off of the original engine in your car, but make sure you swap over the pickup tube also.

Is there a special pan I need to use with a 1-piece rear main seal though? If not, I'll just use the stock one and sell the other one.

Sorry, didn't read the post. Yes that pan will fit if you get the right pickup for it. Check with the manufacturer for the proper pickup. The one piece rear main seal has no affect on what pan will actually bolt on to the engine.

I may know of a parts store that could hook me up with the pick-up. If not, I'll use the stock pan and pick-up.

The stock pickup might just work with that pan if it is no lower than the original....check it out.

No, I won't be needing them. I am installing a Fox distributor, BAP sensor, and computer so I can use the custom wiring harness from fordfuelinjection.com
