Congrats! Nice first car!

I'm 37 just for reference. So started driving in the early 90's.

First car was a 78 Camaro. Built 350 with some nice chrome cragar rims and fat tires. Was a hand down from my brother when he went away to college so free.

First car I bought when I was 17...1988 Ford EXP! Most people don't even know what that is. Basically an escort but only 2 seater hatchback. Scored it for 2k with 40k miles. It actually was a mustang wannabe lol!

Drove that sucker for a good 5 years though. Got me to work and to college classes. Of course since it had this huge hatch space I had to put some subs and amp and crossover and junk in it.

My first was a 88 Olds Cutlass that was a hand me down. When it died, I bought a 67 Mustang coupe for $1600.

Mine was a '84 Ford Tempo 4dr. sedan. Paid $2,000 cash and the sad thing is that Because of NY State laws, my insurance for the first year was more than what I paid for the car.

Laugh all you want but those sedans have more room in the back than the coupes did in those days.

1985 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4.

Paid $500 for it. Came with manual locking hubs, dual gas tanks, a 112hp 2.8L V6, a blown transmission and that awesome mid-80's to early-90's Ford grey primer that loved to flake off while you were driving down the road.

Loved that POS! Drove it well into the mid-90's.

First car I bought was an 88 TurboCoupe. Paid $500 for it. Like someone else stated, paid about $150 a month for insurance, and had the car several years... (This in about 2002)

Oh man....I remember when I first started paying insurance on that Ranger. $2,200/year PLPD only....and that was with the driver training course! Pretty brutal rates for a 16-year-old kid in 1991. But, I've always had insurance under my own name.

1980 Chevy LUV. 4 cyl Isuzu gas motor, 2wd long bed and a/c that didnt work. My old man gave it to me. We couldnt kill that thing no matter how hard we tried and it could hardly get out of its own way.

Man, how I would love to find a truck like that for my Lawn Care Business just to run around and pull a small
trailer with a mower. I was gonna plan on putting a modest drop on it too just to make it look badass but only if it was 2 wheel drive.

I'll see if it's still around if you want it? Might not suit your needs anymore. I yanked out the 2.8L in favour of a 5.0L HO back in 1995 and lifted it 3". Not exactly a fuel miser anymore.....but it sure could pull a trailer.

First car was a hand me down that I never drove. Second car (that I also never drove unless you count donuts in a field) was an '81 Regal I bought for $200. Third car (that I also only did donuts in) was a '78 Grand Prix that I paid $400 for. Forth car was an '87 Cavalier Z24 that I also paid $400 for and actually drove quite a bit before selling it for $800.

My first car which I bought as a project car when I was 16 was a 76 triumph tr7 hardtop. Bought it for 700 bucks. Due to electrical issues and lack of knowledge it never made it to the road. Years later I push out out of the garage to sell it to move to minnisota 7 years later to be exact. I drop a battery in and tighten down one of the carburetors since it day unbolted that 7 years. Turned the key just to see if it would turn over to put that on the ad. After maybe 10 revolutions it fired right up. I was extremely shocked and ended up doing some work to get it on the road. By that time I was laid off work andmy 04 ranger got repod so needed a vehicle. Had all the money to insure it and register it that Sunday. Been starting it up everyday for about a month and driving it around the block. Went to turn it around to change the oil and put some gear oil in the pumpkin and wouldn't start. Wasn't getting fuel. After awhile I saved and bought a fuel cell and fittings nessisary to hook it up. Mount it and fuel was getting to the motor. ($500 for a OEM replacement tank and everything underneath had to come out. Header back exhaust, Axel, and whatever I'm forgetting. Maybe $175 for the cell and accesseries.) No spark. I couldn't figure that out, forums didn't help with that. Web couldn't help. So it sold for 500. 2 days before I got my license I got my 2nd car. 83 mustang gt 5.0 5 speed. Which went down for a fuel pump that I want getting the right pumps when trying. Later on for it running again and now currently working on getting it back on the road now. Almost my daily driver again

Little better pictures. Just got done waxing and clay barring it. Does have the spoiler I just took it off to clean all the leaves out of underneath. And the last pic is the before and after pic of the roof. I never waxed it after a3 stage buff soiit went back to the way it was. Once it's on the road I'm going to finish the whole car like that and *cough* touch up paint all of the chips in the paint to get by until I can get it painted. I've tried a few large sections on the bumper. Not great looking but does look better from a few feet away
