Someone was giving me a hard time so thought would ask if all my mods on my sig plus 4.10 gears and 100 shot could hold off a Ls1 camaro or did I just race a modded 97 or older. I dont know that much bout chevy but thought the new ones had the new front clip. Can the older styles upgrade to that front clip?

You then claimed to keep up with an ls1. I asked where the extra 100hp came from since he had exhaust. Then, you told me I was an idiot and that the ls1 had 300hp and to "google" it. If you do have a 100 shot and 4.10's, you are going to need a set of tires to keep up with an ls1. If you get traction, you should beat one if it has bolt ons. Bolt on/cam car, you will get beat.
the lt1 came in the fourth generation camaros, with the ls1 starting in 98 fbodys and 97 in the vette. The rated difference was only 20hp or so in the camaros, but in actual power numbers, the difference is much more.

I think it's pretty obvious that he added the video game part just so the thread wouldn't get deleted. We all know stangnet's policy about street racing and posting about it...
And is it really that unbelievable that he held off an LS1 in this case? He said he passed the camaro, then the driver of the camaro took off. So not only is he ahead to start with, he has more speed. If they started around the speed limit, then the race would get to rediculous speeds before camaro could gain enough speed to pass. We all know what a difference getting the jump makes. It takes a lot longer when you start out behind.
In my opinion, he is a huge ricer for bragging about this because it wasn't a fair race at all. Just means the camaro was in enough of a hole that the more powerful car couldn't come out on top before the speeds were unreasonable for the street.
Don't get me wrong, the LS1 is nasty. The last race I had with one, I was at the track in my 4cyl. Nothing went my way, I was nailed to the tree by .100 seconds, then because I had to throw in some old spare plugs, one cylinder started missing in the cold air and I ran my worst time of the night, a 13.4 to his 13.3.

From what i gathered from your sig you are the equivelent of a P.I. with TB, plenum, mid pipe and weld ins. Not hating on your car by any means, but the shorties probably aren't doing much, so i would say with a 100 shot and 4.10's if your a good driver you may beat an ls1. You gotta remember they have like freaking 70 more cubes stock than we do You'd probably hold your own though. Hell if you can drive well enough you'll win. It really could go either way.

It's all good in the end. We shouldn't talk smack to LS1 guys anyways (i don't) cuz we're talking stock, if they have anywhere near the mods i have it's like a full second difference in the 1/4

Chevy has always done 1 thing right - 5.7L small block. I wish Ford would take the competition a bit more serious and make the 4v 4.6L the standard issue of the Mustang GT.
Sorry I cant keep up with my sig during school season, I still try to work fulltime to or like 30 hours a week also. I dont have prove anything and I wasnt bragging in any means. I wasnt really racing just didnt want him zooming past me like Im a little npi mustang that is all. O winters98 where are your other two cars there not in your sig, then you must not have them. I don't strive for anything, I contribute on a daily basis. If you had any common sense, you would know that dropping 30-50k on a corvette right now is not a smart decision, regardless if one has the funds or not.
