My buddy has a 97 ws6 auto. I have an 03 gt auto. Both just have exhaust except he has headers too. (I only have c/b and midpipe) I know the ws6 are fast but really dont know much about them and couldn't find anyone's experience with them on here. Im guessing what he maybe has like 100 hp over me? Maybe im off but let me know. Obviously nitrous it most cost effective, what else would get me to his level.

Thanks

LT1 fear none. DRs, gears, programmer for sure. From a dig you will own him but a high mph roll would be different. Escpecially if hes got the 6 speed

There is more to racing than just horsepower and there is always someone faster.

Anyways gears, tune, transmission cooler will get you to a place where you should easily take him though. Should cost around $1000 for that stuff maybe less especially if you DIY.

Do yourself a favor, when it comes time to race him, do it at the drags with a set of timing lights and a christmas tree, that way, you know you beat him legit, and there's no excuses. Who knows, you might "tree" him and win on driving ability.
Yes, I think the show "pinks" is rock solid BS.

You need a 5sp and then you would walk away from him. Otherwise like said above chip, full exhaust and intake wouldn't hurt

I think 97 was the year they changed the headlights & other subtle exterior differences, I beleive the first year of that style still had the LT1 though. If he has an LS1, it has to be a 98 up. If thats the case, GOOD LUCK!!!!

Your auto will only hurt your chance of winning.
Good luck though you will need it.

no one can out shift an automatic and it only adds about 5% to the total drivetrain loss. Have you ever even driven a Mustang with a 4R70W? I seriously doubt you have...

if by what u mean when u say he has headers too. If that means that he has full exhaust i think he has you man. I would say stock vs. stock your about equal with the slight advantage to him because he will start to pull back on you once he gets moving. U should get him outta the hole but then watch it cause he will start to pull back.

Get u some 4.10s and a nice stall and u got him easily.
