Well I am some what on the other end of your situation. I have a 88 5.0 almost where you want your 92 to be some day, and let me tell you that it has taken me 6 years and more money then I paid for my Mach 1 to get it that way. If you have a really good place to store the 92 so it does not get all rusted up and banged up while you are gone, and you are willing to put the time and money it takes to get it where you want it, then keep it and enjoy it. I know that my Mach 1 is way more enjoyable then my 88. Sure my 88 is faster, but the Mach is the whole package. If I had it to do again, and had my Mach 1 at that time, I would have never sank that much $ in my 88. Good luck on what you decide to do.

I have always wanted a 5.0, always. Now that I have one I have all of these goals/dreams for it. It would be so hard to just get rid of it after I wanted one for so long. And you are right, my final stage is somewhat where you are now. 331 with AFR 185's and all the goodies. We'll see. I might be just holding onto a dream, and thats it.

Well there is nothing wrong with having your dream, if you can store the 92 somewhere safe, then it really does not matter how much time it take to finish it, or money for that matter, because thats what you want. I would never try to discurage someone from completing a dream, but take my advise, make a decision on what you want from your 92, and stay the course to get it that way. I started out wanting a 12 second street driven, dependable 88, and now I have an almost striped drag car that is knocking on the 10second zone because speed is addicting, and now I do not enjoy the car like I use to and have wasted money making changes. Now I enjoy the comfort, dependablity of the Mach because it is really what I wanted to begin with. I hope you can decide what you want to do, and don't give up on your dream to own a really nice fox, because they are slowly disappering.

I would like to have a dependable 5.0 that has some more power with newer equipment under the hood. I do not want to take it to the track, I do not want a drag car. A N/A 331 with a decent intake, a 75mm MAF, 30lb inj, forged I beams, a nice cam, new exhaust, new suspension, new manual transmission, a/c delete, remove the heater core, new radiator...I know I already mentioned all of that. But maybe I am just trying to justify myself. I think once I get the motor and everything else under the hood, new tranny, paint job and clean the interior I am set. So once I get the motor in I am done with performance mods. I will be travelling a great deal due to the fact that I will be in the military for the next seven years. I am not sure how much I would even get to mod it. So if I have it in storage in PA, where will I be?
