What year was the PI swap done?

Tried searching all over for this and it kept coming up no results on here. What year did ford run the npi motors? I thought it was like 94-01 and 02-04 was PI. I think im wrong though.

96-98 had npi....

Ah ok. I was on another forum and there were guys on there with like 2001 gts with the PI swap listed in their mods so it confused me. Thanks.

96-98 romeo NPI, 99/00 and half way through 01 Windsor PI, 2001-2004 PI. 2004 PI heads have full threads.

The NPI 4.6L 2V V8 was from 1991 - 2000 depending on the model of car.

Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis had NPI 2V heads from 1991 - 2000.
ThunderBird and Cougar had NPI heads from 1994 - 1997.
Mustang had NPI heads from 1996 - 1998.

Mustang had Windsor PI heads from 1999 - 2000.
Mustang had Romeo PI heads from 2001 - 2004.
Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis had Romeo PI heads from 2001 - 2009.

I don't recall what the Ford trucks had and when they switched over.

97-00 had NPI 01+ had PI thats on the 4.6 I assume it goes for the 5.4 as well..not 100% sure

PI cars started in 99, not 01.

PI started in 1998 in the ford 5.4, jumped the horsepower in the 1997 5.4 from 235 to 260 in 1998. The 1998 4.6 f150 still had npi heads.

PI started in the mustang in 99 with the new body.

I had a set of 98 PI heads off an f150.

BTW, TGJ, why are you missing out on the fun in the Bill's build thread??? LOL.

Haven't checked into lately. Does his car have actual numbers and track times yet or just his BS that it will kill Corvettes?
