Hey guys I just of last friday got an 86 gt with a 93 motor and tranz in it. Anyway, it has a battery relocation kit in the trunk and well it got tipped over (yeah I havent got it strapped down yet!!). So after cleaning all that crap up, I freakin put the positive cable on the negative and vice versa , long story short, it wont start, and none of the lights come on!
I looked at the fuses and one of the 30watt fuses was blown, but thats all I can find, we tried to jump the car, and the starter didnt click, so I think that the starter solenoid is smoked, any other suggestions?

Thanks, josh

it is your fusable links. they come off of the solinoid on the hot size. you will see some orange rubber things on the wire. i need to cut them out and put in the right size fuses in place. this is your problem.

The thing is the lights dont come on, nothing comes on, except the fuel pump cuz it has a separate switch, Im leaning towards a ignition switch now but I am still confused.

trust me, check the fusable links. you will find the problem. cut them off and run a jumper wire to the power and watch your lights come back on. do that just to test it.

the igntion switch has nothing to do with lights. it's the fusable links. i have seen it many times.

Where exactly are the fuseable links? Are they by the brake booster, and the diagnostic ports?
Thanks for the info :dastang2

he already told you where the links were "it is your fusable links. they come off of the solinoid on the hot size. you will see some orange rubber things on the wire. i need to cut them out and put in the right size fuses in place. this is your problem." look by the battery!! they're a large wire with a big plastic cover looking thing over part of the wire..you'll see just look around

you can shave the top of the rubber off to verify that the wire inside is burned. but i am 100 percent sure that if you just put in some fuses in place, it will work. make sure you replace all of them. one is for your charging system, 0ne is for the ecu and one for your lights i believe.
