Kelley blue book or kbb.com said $11,695 for private party value. That was for the coupe rated in excellent shape with all available factory options (leather, rear spoiler, power etc). At the dealer, or retail value was $13,775. I think those prices are fair for a 98 Cobra in excellent shape. What color is it? I want a 98 Chrome yellow coupe with black leather 1 day. I miss my 97!!!

Well I sold my 97 with about 98k miles, exhaust, springs, shocks, & camber plates last november for 8k. And it was in good, not excellent shape. I would definately say that 8k is a steal. Be careful and look it over 1st. You never know how they drove & maintained it. Even 9k would be a steal with 38k in excellent shape. What color is it & does it have leather?

I'd hit it, but I would buy a 2001 Cobra before I would get a 98 Cobra. I like the 99-04 new edge body style a whole lot better.

I also like the new edge body style better when it comes to GT's, but I like the 96-98 Cobras way more than the 99-01's. Its something about that twin nostril hood & front fascia. And then with the addition of an S281 spoiler

Just be sure to have the car checked out and run a carfax too if you can.

35K is definitely low mileage on the odometer for a '98 - sounds like a nice snake. Check it out!

I think 96-98's ran high 13's of the showroom floor. Not sure about 99-01's though.

99-01's have about 320 ft. lbs. of torque as opposed to the 96-98's 305. Both have a little over 300 hp. The 96-98's would still be faster off the line I think because of the solid axle.
